The Tournament Family's Choice
Next Door to LakePoint. No Commute. Just Baseball.
Casa Lago Azul is literally next door to LakePoint Sports Complex. Families from across the Southeast — from Charleston SC, from Nashville, from Charlotte — book us for baseball, soccer, basketball, and volleyball tournaments all year long. The reason is simple: you're paying to be at the tournament, not stuck in a hotel 20 minutes away arguing about parking.
Our property at 713 Mulberry Circle in Woodstock, GA sits steps from the LakePoint complex entrance. Tournament mornings are a 3-minute walk or a 1-minute drive — no traffic, no parking stress, no rushing. When your player has a 2-hour gap between sessions, you come home, eat a real lunch from the kitchen, let them rest in an actual bed, and make it back to the next game refreshed instead of frantic.
We sleep up to 8 guests comfortably. That's two families sharing costs, or one full family with room for the grandparents, or a team's immediate crew all under one roof. We host tournament weekends all year — baseball peak is June and July, soccer fills September through November, and basketball and volleyball run year-round. Reserve early. These weekends fill fast.
What You Get
Why Tournament Families Choose Casa Lago Azul
Walking Distance to LakePoint
LakePoint Sports Complex is a 3-minute walk or 1-minute drive from Casa Lago Azul. The complex entrance on Stars Way is visible from our neighborhood. You're not commuting to the tournament — you're living at it. No one else in the area can say that.
Sleeps 8 — Fits the Whole Crew
Three private bedrooms means real beds for everyone — not pullout sofas in a hotel room. Adults get the master suite. Kids take the other two rooms. Players sleep better, wake up rested, and play better. Washer and dryer on-site for the dirty uniforms.
Full Kitchen — Cook Team Meals
Stop paying $60 in stadium food. Full-size refrigerator, gas range, dishwasher, all the cookware you need. Stock up at Publix (5 minutes away) on arrival night and cook real meals all weekend. Tournament breakfasts, post-game dinners, midnight snack raids — we've got the space for all of it.
Game Room — Kids' Recovery Zone
After a full day at the complex, the kids need somewhere to burn off the last of their energy — or zone out. Our game room gives them a dedicated space so the adults can actually relax. Everyone stays in the house. Everyone winds down happy.
Fire Pit & Hot Tub — Parents' Recovery Zone
Tournament weekends are hard on parents too — hours standing in the sun, hauling gear, cheering from bleachers. The hot tub on our back patio is 20 minutes of relief after Day 1. The fire pit turns into the evening gathering point. You earned it.
Movie Room — Wind Down After the Game
The dedicated movie room is the perfect place to end a tournament evening. Put the kids in there with a movie, and the adults get the patio to themselves. Everybody decompresses. Everybody sleeps well. Repeat for Day 2.
Every Sport, Every Season
Tournament Sports at LakePoint Sports Complex
LakePoint Sports Complex hosts over 200,000 youth athletes every year across multiple sports. Here's what we see most from our guests — and what to expect for each sport's peak season:
Baseball & Softball
Baseball is our single biggest driver. PBR (Perfect Game Baseball), travel ball, AAU — we host families from across the Southeast all spring and summer. June and July are peak travel baseball season at LakePoint, and weekends book out months in advance. If you're coming for a Perfect Game or PBR showcase, book the moment you get your tournament confirmation. Don't wait.
Soccer
Fall is soccer season. Youth soccer showcases and club tournaments run September through November at LakePoint, and we fill up with soccer families during that stretch. The fall weather in Georgia is ideal — cool mornings, warm afternoons, and spectacular foliage on the drive in. A great time to be here.
Basketball
LakePoint's indoor courts host basketball tournaments throughout the year. The indoor venue means weather is never a factor — basketball runs on schedule regardless of Georgia summer heat or winter cold. Year-round bookings from basketball families make this one of our steadiest sports.
Volleyball
Volleyball tournament weekends bring some of our biggest groups — it's common to have two families splitting the house for a volleyball event. The three-bedroom setup works perfectly for that scenario: each family gets private sleeping quarters, and everyone shares the kitchen, game room, and fire pit. Tournament weekends throughout the year.
No Traffic. No Stress.
Distance & Directions
LakePoint Sports Complex is a 3-minute walk or 1-minute drive from Casa Lago Azul. No traffic. No parking stress. No 7am alarm to beat the commute. You can literally hear the announcements from the complex on a quiet morning.
LakePoint Sports Complex — Main Entrance
261 Stars Way, Cartersville, GA 30121. Use Google Maps or Apple Maps — both route you perfectly. Turn onto Stars Way and follow signs to your specific field or court. The complex is divided by sport, so check your tournament schedule for which section you need.
Publix at Ridgewalk
Stock up on arrival night. Breakfast food, sandwich fixings, sports drinks, cooler packs for the complex. You'll save $150+ versus eating every meal near the fields. Publix deli and hot bar are also solid tournament-day lunch options if you need food fast between sessions.
Dick's Sporting Goods
Forgot something? Batting gloves, cleats, an extra helmet — Dick's in Woodstock is 10 minutes away and fully stocked. Better than paying LakePoint's venue prices if you're in a pinch.
Lake Allatoona
If you have a morning off from the tournament or a free afternoon, Lake Allatoona is 5 minutes away. 12,000-acre reservoir — swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking. A completely different kind of vacation for the family members who aren't watching every game.

Tournament Family Tips
After hosting dozens of tournament weekends, here's what the most organized families do:
Grocery Run on Arrival Night
Hit Publix at Ridgewalk (5 min) on Thursday or Friday evening. Stock the fridge: breakfast food for two days, lunch items for the cooler, quick dinners, sports drinks, snacks for the complex. You'll save $150+ versus eating every meal near the fields, and you won't waste precious game-day time driving for food.
Check Your Field Assignment Early
LakePoint Sports has multiple parking areas depending on which fields are active that day. Download the LakePoint app or check your tournament schedule the night before for specific field assignments. The main entrance is on Stars Way — Google Maps routes you correctly.
Use the Break — Come Home Between Sessions
If you have a 2+ hour gap between games, come back to the house. Real lunch from the kitchen, players rest on actual beds, parents decompress in the quiet. You're 1 minute away. Hotel guests can't do this. Take full advantage of the proximity.
Team Dinner at the House
Team dinners work great at Casa Lago Azul. The dining table seats 8 and we have extra chairs for the deck. Order from our recommended local spots — Taqueria del Sol (15 min) or Chick-fil-A (7 min) for easy group orders — and bring it home for a proper post-game dinner around the fire pit.
Run the Uniforms Saturday Night
Full-size washer and dryer on-site. Put the uniforms through Saturday night and they're ready for Sunday morning games. Laundry detergent is provided. One less thing to think about in the tournament fog.

Plan Around the Calendar
LakePoint Sports Tournament Calendar by Season
LakePoint Sports Complex runs events year-round, but each season has its own rhythm. Understanding when your sport peaks at the complex helps you book lodging before dates fill. Casa Lago Azul is the closest vacation rental to LakePoint, so we track the tournament schedule closely. Here is what to expect season by season:
Spring — Baseball Opens, Lacrosse & Soccer Kick Off
Spring is one of the busiest stretches at LakePoint. Travel baseball season ramps hard in March and hits full speed by April — youth baseball and softball showcases fill every weekend. Spring lacrosse tournaments run parallel, bringing families from across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Club soccer spring tournaments also kick off in April. If your team is competing in a spring travel baseball event, a spring lacrosse showcase, or an early-season soccer tournament at LakePoint, get your lodging locked in as soon as registration confirms. March through May weekends are gone early.
Summer — Peak Travel Baseball, Volleyball & Basketball
Summer is our absolute busiest season, and baseball is the primary driver. June and July bring Perfect Game Baseball (PBR) showcases, AAU baseball tournaments, and elite travel ball events that draw families from across the country. These are the weekends that fill our calendar earliest — some dates book out three to four months in advance. Summer is also a major period for indoor volleyball and basketball, since Georgia's heat pushes families toward LakePoint's climate-controlled facilities. If you are coming for a summer baseball tournament, a PBR showcase, a summer AAU basketball event, or a club volleyball tournament, do not wait. Book the moment you get your tournament confirmation.
Fall — Soccer Showcases, Fall Ball & Club Volleyball
Fall is soccer season in Georgia, and LakePoint is one of the Southeast's premier fall soccer showcase venues. Youth soccer club tournaments and travel showcases run nearly every weekend from September through November. Fall ball (baseball) also runs at the complex for teams staying sharp ahead of next spring's season. Club volleyball and basketball tournaments continue year-round through the fall months. The weather in North Georgia is outstanding in October — crisp mornings, blue skies, the kind of tournament weekend families actually enjoy being outside for. Fall lodging near LakePoint for soccer families fills quickly, especially the October showcase weekends.
Winter — Indoor Basketball, Volleyball & Tryout Season
Winter at LakePoint is driven by indoor sports. Basketball tournaments run on LakePoint's courts throughout December, January, and February — weather is never a factor in the indoor facility. Volleyball club tryout season and early tournament season overlap, making January and February active months for volleyball families. Indoor soccer and other gym sports fill the winter weekends. Casa Lago Azul stays busy through the winter with basketball and volleyball tournament families who appreciate having a home base instead of a hotel. If you are coming for a winter indoor sports event at the complex, booking a few weeks ahead is usually sufficient — but popular January holiday weekend tournaments can still book fast.
Tournament Housing Done Right
Vacation Rental Near LakePoint Sports — What Makes This Different
Most families searching for lodging near LakePoint Sports end up with two options: a hotel in Cartersville or Woodstock (15–25 minutes away), or a vacation rental that happens to be somewhere in the area. Casa Lago Azul is different because we are not "near" the complex in the general sense — we are literally next door. The LakePoint Sports Complex entrance on Stars Way is less than a mile from our driveway at 713 Mulberry Circle.
That proximity changes the entire tournament weekend. We have hosted families who drove in from Nashville for a PBR baseball showcase, families from Charlotte who came for a fall soccer tournament, families from Tampa for a volleyball event, and Atlanta-area families who use us even for local tournaments because the house is more comfortable than a hotel. In every case, the thing they mention in reviews is not the hot tub or the game room — it is how much less stressful the whole weekend felt when they did not have to commute to every session.
Tournament housing near LakePoint Sports Complex is a different category than regular vacation rental. You are not here for the pool or the mountain views. You are here to compete, to support your athlete, and to get through three days of back-to-back games without the whole family falling apart. We are set up for exactly that: real beds for everyone, a kitchen that works, laundry on-site for the uniforms, and a patio that rewards you at the end of a long day. That is the Casa Lago Azul value proposition for LakePoint tournament families.
